What is a Carer / Support Worker?

Carer / Support Workers provide varying levels of care for vulnerable adults and children. Some positions will need specific qualifications others you can start with little or no specific qualifications. Most recruiters would expect you to have basic education, a caring disposition and an interest in developing your skills and training if you have never worked within the profession.

To work within the care industry you must have the right to work in UK and have a place of residence. All carers will undergo a CRB check before they are legally able to work in the profession. You cannot carry a CRB from one position to another and will have to provide the required documentation to qualify.
