Stephen James Consulting are looking to recruit a Care Home Manager for a small family run group, focusing on residential, nursing and Dementia. This 70 bedded home, based in Alferton, Derbyshire provides elderly care to nursing residential and dementia service users. The Care Home has won awards from Derbyshire County Council and to have consistently achieved excellent scores in the annual NHS audit.

The Care Home Manager will run an efficient and effective Home which provides a safe, caring and stimulating environment for service users and their visitors, whilst meeting stringent professional and statutory standards and business performance targets. Experience of elderly care home management a must. Acting as a focal point for contact with service users, their relatives and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in service user’s wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are acted upon and concerns or complaints are promptly investigated and dealt with appropriately.

Taking full responsibility for marketing the Home to existing and potential service users and their carers, as well as health and social care professionals responsible for the referral of service users, to ensure maximum occupancy is consistently achieved. Along with maximizing income by setting optimum achievable levels of private fees and premiums, as well as providing advice to potential service users on access to possible funding and funding agencies.

Qualifications/ Experience

Ideally 1st level Registered Nurse (nursing home) with current NMC number but this isn’t essential
NVQ 4 or equivalent in Care for care homes
Experience working with the client group
Experience of supervising staff and staff appraisal
Evidence of up to date training / PREPP for nurses
